Artist Bio

Hello, I'm Kimberley Lichty, aka "Sassy Artist Kimberley". 

Thank you for popping in. I acquired the name "Sassy" from my dear ole dad, and husband. Being I have a full of sass attitude mixed with a bit of sarcasm too, I serve the Sassy name well.

Introduced into visual arts as early as five years of age. My mother, Janet Hawk, an art teacher, and instructor at the local Art League in Elkhart, IN insisted I “tag along”.

“I recall mom taking me to the League, where I was placed at a table with a plethora of mediums from paints, clay, chalks, pastels, and charcoal”. 

I spent a number of years working with all variations of mediums. Creating with acrylic paints combined with mixed media elements is where I fell in love with creating, and where my style lives in the arts today. Working in Mixed Media, I marry a plethora of random found, and intentional objects into each created piece. I use professional grade brushes, pallet knives, sponges, and other tools of the trade onto professional grade, back stapled canvas, and collective wood panels.

"What inspires me"?

"Life itself. The gift of another day to create. 

My husband Bob, our amazing kiddos / family, music, and friends too." "Vincent Van Gogh's works have been a huge inspiration to me for becoming an artist. Even though my methods are not exactly similar; I resonate with his love of being able to create.
