Hello,
I'm Kimberley Lichty, aka "Sassy Artist Kimberley".
Thank you for popping in. I acquired the name "Sassy" from my dear ole dad, Donald Hawk. I have a full of sass attitude mixed with a bit of sarcasm too.
I was introduced into visual arts as early as five years of age by my mother, Janet Hawk, an instructor and teacher with our local Elkhart County Art League. It was my mother that inspired me to become a visual artist.
Spending a number of years working with all variations of mediums studying at IUSB and teaching myself the trades of visual artistry I fell in love with Mixed Media which is where I landed in creating.
In May of 2023 my focus, and style changed dramatically. Our family suffered the loss of our only son, and brother, Wesley, to depression via death by suicide. Wesley suffered from depression for over a decade prior to his suicide.
My art is not just a form of expression, but also a platform for advocacy. Today I create pieces inspired by:
Positive Mental Health, Door Ways, and Abstract collections. Each piece old within my collection is a testament to my commitment, as I choose to give back 10% to local and national chapters of Suicide Awareness.
With Mixed Media, I merry a plethora of random found, and intentional objects into each created piece. The three styles of Positive Mental Health, doorways, and Abstracts bring a cohesive use of vibrant colors that speak volumes about creativity in a positive state of mind.
During juried show season I choose to give back 10% to local, and national chapters of Suicide Awareness with all purchases made from locals, patrons, and collectors.
I create using professional grade brushes, pallet knives, sponges, and other tools of the trade onto professional grade, back stapled canvas, and collective wood panels where; "Bringing Visual Arts into Everyday Lives," is my mantra, and passion.
Juried Show exhibits include;
For the Love of Art - Art Fair, South Bend, IN
I won Best Promoter for the Love Arts Fair in 2022, and awarded a billboard for the 2023 Art Show.

"What inspires me"?
"Life itself. The gift of another day to create.
My husband Bob, our amazing kiddos / family, music, and friends too." "Vincent Van Gogh's works have been a huge inspiration to me for becoming an artist. Even though my methods are not exactly similar; I resonate with his love of being able to create.
Yes, you can hire me to create an idea.
